MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of The Cromwell Collaborative is to establish, serve and connect groups and individuals dedicated to protecting the principles of American Exceptionalism.

Founded in 2011, The Cromwell Collaborative is a decentralized starfish-based organization that takes its name from the English patriots Thomas and Oliver Cromwell.  Thomas Cromwell, as a lawyer who served King Henry VIII, was instrumental in the advancement of constitutional monarchy and religious tolerance in an era when both ideas could easily cost a man his head.  Oliver Cromwell was a soldier who revolutionized the military and led the fight against the religious and political tyranny of King Charles I.

Oliver, born 60 years after Thomas' death, was directly related to the elder Cromwell.  Though one was called to the law and the other to soldier, both put their lives and fortunes at risk in a model of selfless leadership necessary to any republic that wishes to preserve its freedom from despotism and its security from threats both within and without.

What was true for the Cromwells is true for us today.  With their similar oaths to uphold and defend the United States Constitution, lawyers and soldiers share a unique calling as officers of freedom in a self-governing republic.  Though one wields a pen and the other a sword, both are charged with the high duty to preserve every American's unfettered right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  The Crowell Collaborative exists to aid those in the discharge of this sacred duty.
